Common Name | Tribenuron-Methyl 0.8% + Isoproturon 49.2% WP |
Cas No. | 101200-48-0, 34123-59-6 |
Formulation | WP |
Application/Uses | Tribenuron-Methyl: Biochemistry Affects sensitive weeds through inhibition of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS). Inhibition of ALS leads to the rapid cessation of cell division and subsequent growth processes in plants. Mode of action Selective, post-emergence herbicide, acting primarily through foliar uptake, with little or no soil activity. Symptoms of chlorosis appear in affected weeds in days with necrosis and death occuring after 10-25 days under optimal conditions. Uses Post-emergence control of broad-leaved weeds in cereal crops, including wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale, at 7.5-30 g/ha. Formulation types TB; WG. Selected products: 'Express' (USA) (DuPont); 'Granstar' (Europe) (DuPont); 'Pointer' (Germany) (DuPont); 'Oscar' (Vapco); 'Rapid' (Rotam); mixtures: 'Canvas' (+ metsulfuron-methyl+ thifensulfuron-methyl) (DuPont) Isoproturon: Biochemistry Photosynthetic electron transport inhibitor at the photosystem II receptor site. Mode of action Selective systemic herbicide, absorbed by the roots and leaves, with translocation. Uses Pre- and post-emergence control of annual grasses (Alopecurus myosuroides, Apera spica-venti, Avena fatua and Poa annua) and many annual broad-leaved weeds in spring and winter wheat (except durum wheat), spring and winter barley, winter rye, and triticale, at 1.0-1.5 kg/ha. Phytotoxicity Non-phytotoxic to cereals, except durum wheats. Formulation types SC; WP. Selected products: 'Alon' (CGNS); 'Arelon' (CGNS); 'Cordelia' (Griffin); 'Dhanulon' (Dhanuka); 'Hilproturon' (Hindustan); 'Isoguard' (Gharda, Chiltern); 'Narilon' (Nagarjuna Agrichem); 'Panron' (Sanonda); 'Pasport' (RPG); 'Proton' (Devidayal); 'Protugan' (Makhteshim-Agan); 'Strong' (Bayer CropScience); 'Tolkan' (Bayer CropScience); 'Totalon' (Crop Health); 'Turonex' (Agriphar); mixtures: 'Affinity' (+ carfentrazone-ethyl) (FMC); 'Herbaflex' (+ beflubutamid) (Stler, Ube); 'Javelin' (+ diflufenican) (Bayer CropScience) |
