Application/Uses	Rooting Induction Cutting Propagation: NAA is widely used in horticulture to stimulate root formation in cuttings. When applied to the base of stem cuttings, it promotes the development of adventitious roots. For example, in the propagation of rose cuttings, dipping the cut ends in an NAA - containing solution can significantly increase the success rate of root formation. This is because NAA activates genes related to root development, which leads to the growth of new roots from the stem tissue. Layering: In layering techniques, NAA can also enhance root growth. When a branch is bent and covered with soil (layering), treating the area where roots are expected to form with NAA encourages root growth, facilitating the establishment of a new plant from the parent plant. Fruit Set and Development Increasing Fruit Yield: NAA can prevent fruit drop in some fruit - bearing plants. By promoting fruit set, it helps in maintaining a higher number of fruits on the plant.
