Cas No. | 4685-14-7 |
Formulation | TK,SL |
Application/Uses | A herbicide used to control common weeds in a wide range of agricultural and amenity situations.Broad-spectrum control of broad-leaved weeds and grasses in fruit orchards (including citrus), plantation crops (bananas, coffee, cocoa palms, coconut palms, oil palms, rubber, etc.), vines, olives, tea, alfalfa, onions, leeks, sugar beet, asparagus, ornamental trees and shrubs, in forestry, etc. Also used for general weed control on non-crop land; as a defoliant for cotton and hops; for destruction of potato haulms; as a desiccant for pineapples, sugar cane, soya beans and sunflowers; for strawberry runner control; and in pasture renovation. For control of annual weeds, applied at 0.4-1.0 kg ion/ha. |
ECOTOXICOLOGY | Acute toxicity oral LD50: 58-113 mg/kg in rats and 22-80 mg/kg in guinea pigs. Rat transdermal LD50>660 mg/kg. Irritating to rabbit eyes and skin. The amount absorbed through undamaged human skin is minimal; Exposure can cause irritation and delayed wound healing, and can cause temporary damage to nails. No sensitization to guinea pig skin. Due to the low vapor pressure, it does not produce inhalation toxicity. Extreme exposure to spray can cause epistaxis. Paraquat is widely used as a suicidal agent in developing countries due to its low cost and easy availability. A dose of 10 mL or 2 teaspoons is enough to kill, and the annual number of deaths from poisoning is staggering. There is research indicating an association between the use of glyphosate dichloride by farm workers and Parkinson's disease. Exposure to glyphosate can increase the risk of Parkinson's disease by about twice. Paraquat is structurally similar to MPP+and has been proven to be a rapid inducer of Parkinson's disease in primates. Chronic toxic maximum no effect dose (NOEL), fed to experimental mice at 1.0 mg/(kg · d) for 2 years; 1 year, 0.45 mg/(kg · d) for dogs. Ecological toxicity acute oral LD50: 127 for mountain quail and 54 mg/kg for wild duck. Feeding experiment LC50 (5 d+3 d): mountain toothed quail 711, Japanese quail 698, wild duck 2932, and ring necked pheasant 1063 mg/kg (feed). Fish LC50 (96 hours): Rainbow trout 18.6, Mirror carp 98.3 mg/L. Water flea LC50 (48 h):>4.4 mg/L. The effective middle concentration of biomass in green algae, EbC50 (96 h), is 0.075 mg/L. Bee LD50 (120 h): Acute Oral 11.2 μ G/piece, contact 50.9 μ G per piece. Earthworm acute LC50 (14 days)>1000 mg/kg (soil). |
