| Application/Uses | Foliar fungicide with preventative action. Deposits must be on the crop before fungal spores begin to germinate. Uses Bordeaux mixture is used as a protective fungicide for foliage applications, the freshly prepared precipitate having a high tenacity. Its use is limited to crop plants at stages of growth when its phytotoxicity is low. Major uses include the control of Phytophthora infestans on potatoes, at 4-6 kg/ha, and Venturia inaequalis on apples, Plasmopara viticola on grapes, Sphaceloma perseae on avocado, at 0.6-0.8 kg/100 l; also Pseudoperonospora humuli on hops. Also acts as an insect repellent. Phytotoxicity Plum and peach foliage may be injured, especially at low temperatures. |
